Commercial Sales Support Specialist

Location: Northampton - Hybrid 3 days a week in the office
Sector: Payments / FinTech

About the Role

We are seeking a Commercial Sales Support Specialist to join a growing payments acceptance business and provide high-quality sales, operational and relationship management support across a portfolio of corporate clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a significant stage of growth and transformation, working closely with Relationship Managers, Coverage teams and internal stakeholders to deliver an exceptional client experience and support the continued expansion of the payments business.

You will play a key role in ensuring that sales processes run smoothly, customer relationships are effectively managed and client issues are resolved quickly and professionally. The role combines sales support, client relationship management, commercial analysis and cross-functional coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, operational and commercial support to sales and relationship management teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer databases, sales records and management information.
  • Prepare sales reports, presentations, proposals, contracts and other client-facing materials.
  • Support the development of marketing and sales collateral, including product brochures and presentations.
  • Manage customer enquiries and issues, ensuring they are tracked, escalated and resolved within appropriate timescales.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and relationship activity.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Operations, Legal, Compliance, Product and other business functions to ensure seamless execution of sales activity.
  • Analyse sales and customer data to identify trends, monitor performance and provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential leads, target markets and competitor activity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve the client experience and sales processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in a sales support, sales enablement, client services or relationship management environment.
  • Experience supporting corporate or commercial customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with customer and sales data.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the confidence to work across multiple teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge or experience of payments acquiring / merchant acquiring.
  • Previous experience within FinTech, payments, banking or financial services.
  • Experience supporting sales teams within a technology-led or commercially focused environment.
