I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Release, Change & Environment Management
- Operate within Group IT change control: raise, document and obtain approval for changes in line with FWG IT policy, with defined rollback plans for higher-risk work
Support & Incident Management
- Act as the escalation point for Salesforce incidents and service requests, working within Group IT service management processes and agreed response expectations
- Triage, prioritise and resolve user issues, with clear criteria for the small number of cases that warrant escalation to Salesforce Support or an external partner
- Maintain a prioritised backlog of enhancements and defects, visible to IT leadership and business stakeholders
- Produce and maintain user guidance and deliver training to improve adoption and reduce avoidable demand
Stakeholder, Vendor & People
- Work directly with commercial and marketing stakeholders across the Group's entities to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions — including the ability to challenge change that would damage the platform
