Salesforce Platform Manager – Contract
£600 per day | Outside IR35 | 9 months
London / Hybrid
I'm working with a global, purpose-led membership organisation looking for a hands-on Salesforce Platform Manager to take technical ownership of its Salesforce CRM and customer-facing web platforms.
This is not a traditional people-management role. You’ll operate as the senior technical owner of the platform while remaining close to delivery, configuring solutions, improving the existing estate and helping the team make better technical and product decisions.
The role
You’ll be responsible for shaping, delivering and continuously improving Salesforce and its connected web platforms. This will include:
- Acting as the technical lead for Salesforce CRM and customer-facing web initiatives
- Designing, configuring and improving scalable Salesforce solutions
- Taking a hands-on role across platform administration, configuration and delivery
- Owning integrations between Salesforce, web platforms and connected applications
- Defining best-practice approaches to APIs, connected apps and system integrations
- Identifying opportunities to use declarative Salesforce functionality in place of unnecessary custom development
- Working with stakeholders to turn business requirements into clear technical outcomes
- Shaping the platform roadmap and prioritised delivery backlog
- Leading sprint planning, backlog refinement and quarterly delivery planning
- Challenging requests constructively and ensuring work is prioritised according to business value
- Improving platform security, documentation, data quality, reliability and technical governance
- Overseeing releases, environments and deployment processes
- Supporting and guiding the existing technical team and external delivery partners

What they are looking for
- Strong hands-on Salesforce configuration and administration experience
- Experience across Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud
- Exposure to Marketing Cloud
- Experience delivering customer-facing portals or web-based Salesforce platforms
- Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, security, data models and declarative capabilities
- Practical knowledge of integrations, REST APIs and connected applications
- Experience owning or shaping a Salesforce roadmap and technical backlog
- Strong Agile delivery experience, including user stories, acceptance criteria and sprint planning
- The confidence to challenge developers and stakeholders and make pragmatic delivery decisions
- The ability to balance new delivery with BAU support, technical debt, risk and governance
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience within a membership organisation, financial services, not-for-profit or another complex stakeholder environment would also be valuable.
Contract details
- Initial nine-month contract
- £600 per day
- Outside IR35
- London-based hybrid working
- Two office days are listed, although there may be flexibility depending on meetings and delivery requirements
