About The Role
We are seeking a talented Salesforce Developer to join our Product Engineering Team at Sage, based in Winnersh (Reading area), UK. This hybrid role involves working onsite three days a week, with the remainder of the time dedicated to remote collaboration. As a Salesforce Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions for Sage's global SaaS product, Sage People. Sage People is a comprehensive HR and people management platform built on the Salesforce platform, serving customers worldwide. This role is highly technical and hands-on, focusing on coding and system architecture rather than administration or consulting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, testers, product managers, and architects, to deliver scalable, robust features that enhance customer and employee experiences. Your contributions will directly impact the evolution of the product, especially as it integrates AI-driven capabilities, aligning with Sage's innovation roadmap.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in object-oriented programming, with a strong foundation in Java or C#. Experience developing solutions on the Salesforce platform, particularly with Lightning components, Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of delivering complex technical solutions, managing business requirements, and translating them into scalable code. Familiarity with modern development tools and practices such as Git, Jira, IntelliJ, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable. A Salesforce Developer Certification is a plus but not mandatory. We welcome applications from experienced Salesforce developers as well as backend developers with strong development fundamentals interested in specializing in Salesforce. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions that support Sage's global SaaS product.
- Working hands-on with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, and Lightning Web Components to build customer and people management functionalities.
- Translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Contributing to technical design discussions and participating in system architecture planning.
- Collaborating closely with Salesforce developers, frontend engineers, testers, product managers, and architects to deliver features aligned with the product roadmap.
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies, including Scrum and SAFe, quarterly planning, and product releases.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of AI-driven features, ensuring the product remains innovative and competitive.
