Salesforce Developer & Functional Architect – Maternity Cover

Location: London / Hybrid
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract – Maternity Cover

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading global financial markets business with a significant international presence across multiple asset classes and trading venues. Technology is central to the organisation, providing the digital platforms, software, infrastructure and services that support a highly sophisticated and fast-paced global business.

We have been appointed to identify an experienced Salesforce Developer & Functional Architect to join the Technology function on a maternity cover basis.

This is a hands-on role combining Salesforce architecture, functional design, configuration, development and administration. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, taking ownership of solutions from initial requirements and design through to build, testing, deployment and ongoing support.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, user-focused Salesforce solutions.

The Role

As a Salesforce Developer & Functional Architect, you will be responsible for defining, designing and delivering end-to-end Salesforce solutions, while remaining directly involved in platform configuration and development.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and external partners to ensure Salesforce capabilities are effectively aligned to business objectives and delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Define end-to-end Salesforce functional solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Design scalable data models, business processes and user journeys.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to Salesforce best practices and wider enterprise architecture standards.
  • Translate business requirements into high-level solution designs and functional specifications.

Hands-On Configuration & Build

  • Configure Salesforce components including objects, fields and relationships.
  • Build automation using Flows, validation rules and approval processes.
  • Implement security models including profiles, permission sets and sharing rules.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.
  • Remain hands-on throughout the build process, ensuring solutions are practical, optimised and maintainable.

Salesforce Administration & Support

  • Support day-to-day Salesforce administration alongside project delivery.
  • Manage data requests, including data uploads, cleansing and maintenance.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with user management, access requests and system administration.
  • Respond to ad hoc business requirements and provide timely operational support.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
