About The Role
We are seeking a talented Salesforce Developer to join our Product Engineering Team at Sage, based in Winnersh, UK. This hybrid role requires an individual with a strong hands-on development background, eager to contribute to the evolution of Sage’s flagship HR and people management SaaS product, Sage People. As a key player in the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Salesforce solutions that support our global customer base. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a scalable platform built on the Salesforce ecosystem, focusing on delivering innovative features and functionalities that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in object-oriented programming, preferably with Java or C#. They should have hands-on expertise in Salesforce Lightning development, including Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript. A solid understanding of Salesforce platform architecture and best practices is essential. Certification as a Salesforce Developer is highly desirable but not mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage complex technical requirements and translate business needs into scalable solutions. Experience with version control tools such as Git, project management tools like Jira, and CI/CD pipelines will be advantageous. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
As a Salesforce Developer at Sage, your core responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining robust Salesforce solutions tailored for a global SaaS environment.
- Working directly with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, and Lightning Web Components to deliver customer and internal management functionalities.
- Translating complex business requirements into technical solutions, participating in technical design discussions, and contributing to the overall architecture of the platform.
- Collaborating closely with other Salesforce developers, frontend engineers, testers, product managers, and architects to ensure seamless integration and delivery of features.
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies such as Scrum and SAFe, engaging in quarterly planning and product releases.
- Contributing to the product roadmap, which increasingly incorporates AI-driven features, aligning development efforts with strategic business goals.
- Focusing on coding and system improvements rather than administrative or configuration tasks.
- Directly impacting the functionality, scalability, and performance of Sage’s HR SaaS product, supporting millions of users worldwide.
