Salesforce Developer - Salesforce Platform Developer
Salary: £70,000 - £90,000
Location: Fully Remote
Package: Full corporate benefits package
Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Salesforce Platform Developer to join an exciting SaaS organisation. The role will be approximately 80% focused on hands-on Salesforce development, with the remaining 20% providing additional capability across automation testing. You will develop, test and maintain a Salesforce-based platform, delivering reliable platform changes and supporting integrations, deployments and releases within an Agile environment.
This would suit a hands-on Salesforce Developer with strong Apex, Lightning Web Components and OmniStudio experience who also has experience supporting automated testing.
Role and Responsibilities
- Spend approximately 80% of your time developing, configuring and maintaining Salesforce functionality across a business-critical platform
- Build solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL, JavaScript and OmniStudio
- Translate business and platform requirements into practical technical solutions, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Support integrations between Salesforce and wider enterprise applications and services
- Contribute to technical design, release readiness and deployment activities
- Spend approximately 20% of your time supporting automation testing, helping to improve test coverage and reduce manual testing
- Develop and maintain automated tests alongside functional and regression testing
- Investigate defects and technical issues across Salesforce development, integrations and environments
- Support Salesforce environments, deployments and CI/CD processes
- Work collaboratively within an Agile team, contributing to sprint planning, reviews and continuous improvement

Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial Salesforce development experience
- Hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows and SOQL
- Experience with Salesforce OmniStudio, including OmniScripts
- Good knowledge of Salesforce data, security, automation and integration principles
- Experience developing and supporting Salesforce solutions across multiple environments
- Experience with automation testing and automated test frameworks within a software development environment
- Strong functional and regression testing experience
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Salesforce CLI, Metadata API and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working within Agile development teams
- Experience within a regulated, healthcare, life sciences or clinical trials environment would be advantageous

Desirable
- Experience with Salesforce Agentforce or other Salesforce AI capabilities
- Familiarity with Heroku-hosted applications and Salesforce integration services
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
- Relevant Salesforce certifications including Platform Developer, OmniStudio Developer, Administrator or Platform App Builder
