Position: Salesforce DevOps Engineer Lead
Employment Type: Permanent
Start: ASAP (September/October 2026)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid, 2 days per week office)

Client – Partnered with a global leader in digital transformation and IT services, working with some of the world’s largest organisations. The business delivers complex technology transformation programmes that require innovation, collaboration and thought leadership.
Role – We are seeking an experienced Salesforce DevOps Engineer / Lead to lead and optimise Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD and release management across a complex enterprise Salesforce environment.
This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Copado, Salesforce CI/CD, release management, deployment automation, environment management and Git-based source control, combined with the ability to establish robust DevOps governance and delivery standards.
You will work closely with Salesforce Architects, Developers, Product Owners and delivery teams to automate and streamline deployments across multiple Salesforce environments, improving release quality, security, governance and delivery efficiency within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Salesforce DevOps & CI/CD
- Lead the design, implementation and optimisation of Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using Copado, Azure DevOps or equivalent Salesforce DevOps tooling.
- Automate code promotion, testing, quality gates and deployment across Development, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production and Production environments.
- Define and maintain Salesforce environment strategies, including Sandboxes, Scratch Orgs, environment refreshes and deployment pathways.

Release & Deployment Management
- Own release planning, deployment schedules and production releases, including post-deployment validation, rollback and recovery procedures.
- Establish effective Git branching, merging and source-control strategies, ensuring traceability and controlled code promotion.
- Monitor code quality, security vulnerabilities, technical debt and deployment risks, driving continuous improvement across the release lifecycle.
Governance & DevSecOps
- Establish and maintain Salesforce DevOps governance, security, compliance and audit controls across CI/CD and deployment processes.
- Integrate automated testing, quality assurance and deployment validation into release pipelines.
- Maintain deployment audit trails, release documentation, reporting and governance artefacts.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with Salesforce Architects, Development Leads, Product Owners and Agile delivery teams to enable secure and efficient software delivery.
- Provide leadership across release governance, risk management, deployment strategy and DevOps maturity.
- Mentor development teams on Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD, release management and deployment best practices.

Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on Salesforce DevOps experience, including Salesforce platform administration, release management and multi-environment deployment management.
- Deep expertise implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Copado, with exposure to Azure DevOps or comparable DevOps/release management platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce DX (SFDX), Salesforce Metadata API, Salesforce security models and deployment automation.
- Proven experience with Git-based version control, including GitHub or Bitbucket, with strong knowledge of branching, merging and release governance strategies.
- Experience implementing automated testing, quality gates and deployment validation within Salesforce CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience across release planning, change management, environment strategy, incident management and production deployments.
- Experience working within regulated enterprise environments, with strong knowledge of governance, security, compliance and audit requirements.
- Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum delivery, with excellent stakeholder management, communication, documentation and reporting skills.
- Proven technical leadership and mentoring capability, supporting Salesforce development teams and driving DevOps standards and continuous improvement.
