About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Salesforce Developer to join Sage's Product Engineering Team, based in Winnersh (Reading area), UK. This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring three days onsite and two days remote per week. As part of our ISV (Independent Software Vendor) team, you will be instrumental in developing and evolving our core Salesforce-based SaaS product, Sage People, which serves customers globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in object-oriented programming and hands-on experience with Salesforce Lightning development. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work on complex, scalable solutions that impact thousands of users worldwide, contributing to innovative features, including AI-driven capabilities, within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and a passion for software development. Core qualifications include proven experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C#, along with hands-on development experience on the Salesforce platform. Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, and JavaScript is essential. A Salesforce Developer Certification is highly desirable, demonstrating your commitment and expertise in Salesforce development. Additionally, experience with Salesforce Lightning Web Components, REST APIs, Git, Jira, IntelliJ, and CI/CD practices will be advantageous. We welcome applications from experienced Salesforce Developers as well as backend developers (Java or C#) looking to specialize in Salesforce, provided they have strong development fundamentals and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into scalable and robust technical solutions within the Salesforce environment. Your key responsibilities will include contributing to technical design discussions, system architecture, and ensuring best practices are followed throughout development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Salesforce developers, frontend engineers, testers, product managers, and architects, to deliver high-quality features. Your day-to-day tasks will involve hands-on development using Apex, Lightning Web Components, VisualForce, and APIs, as well as participating in Agile ceremonies such as Scrum and SAFe. You will also play a vital role in contributing to the product roadmap, particularly focusing on integrating AI-driven functionalities to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
