By prioritising people, Slalom creates a unique consulting experience, with a team of strategists and engineers delivering practical, end-to-end solutions that drive impactful outcomes for our clients. We empower people and organisations to dream bigger, move faster, and build better tomorrows for all.

About our role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Principal to join our Salesforce practice in the UK.

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud professional who can combine deep platform expertise with consulting leadership, client delivery, and commercial growth.

You’ll play a key role in helping our clients transform their marketing, customer engagement, and personalisation capabilities using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and the wider Salesforce Customer 360 platform. You’ll work closely with client stakeholders, Salesforce, and our Slalom teams to shape strategies, design solutions, and lead complex programmes from concept through to delivery.

Alongside delivery, you’ll help us grow our Salesforce Marketing Cloud capability and market presence. You’ll contribute to our go-to-market (GTM) strategy, identify and shape new opportunities, support sales pursuits, and build compelling propositions that demonstrate the value Slalom can bring to clients.

This is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact across client delivery, capability development, thought leadership, and business growth.

Life as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Principal

As a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Principal, you’ll operate at the intersection of technology, customer experience, and business transformation. You’ll provide strategic and technical leadership across complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud engagements, while helping to develop our proposition and identify new opportunities in the market.

You’ll work with senior client stakeholders to understand their business challenges and translate them into practical, scalable Marketing Cloud solutions. You’ll also act as a trusted advisor, bringing together Salesforce technology, data, marketing strategy, and customer experience to deliver measurable outcomes.

Specifically, you will:

Delivery & Client Leadership

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud programmes and solutions across the customer lifecycle.
  • Provide senior-level technical and functional leadership across Marketing Cloud engagements, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to business outcomes.
  • Define Marketing Cloud strategies, architectures, and roadmaps aligned to clients’ broader Salesforce and Customer 360 strategies.
  • Work closely with marketing, digital, data, technology, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, design activities, and executive-level discussions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, challenging thinking and identifying opportunities to improve customer engagement and business performance.
  • Provide oversight and guidance across solution design, configuration, integrations, data, automation, and deployment activities.
  • Identify delivery risks and dependencies and work collaboratively with teams to resolve them.
  • Ensure delivery teams maintain high standards of quality, governance, and Salesforce best practice.
  • Support and mentor Salesforce Marketing Cloud consultants, architects, and other team members, helping to build capability across the practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
