At Elsevier, your work contributes to the world’s grand challenges and a more sustainable future. We harness innovative technologies to support science and healthcare to partner for a better world.

About The Role

The Salesforce QA Lead engages directly with global, multi-functional teams to provide technical testing in support of strategic development and enhancement of the Customer Relationship Management application (Salesforce). This includes, but is not limited to, direct engagement with technical and end-user teams, assessment and advancement of complementary Salesforce release and test automation technologies, and alignment to overarching Salesforce Operations development objectives.

The Salesforce QA Lead acts as the business-facing Subject Matter Expert for the Salesforce technology stack during the development test cycle; primary responsibilities include end-user documentation of test plans and procedures, evaluating business requirements in relation to testing approach, stakeholder support during UAT and various phases of the development and testing lifecycle, and execution of required test plans. The primary objective of this role is to ensure that Elsevier has a functionally sound and stable Salesforce deployment, and that the desired level of business support is being achieved in test-related phases of development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with various user groups and technical development teams; direct accountability for execution of development-related testing and end-user engagement during test phases; ensure projects delivered are on time and free of defects.
  • Work closely with development and business teams to ensure defined requirements are feasible based upon current product structure.
  • Provide system and business process expertise when scoping test plans in relation to development requirements.
  • When developing test plans, review solution summaries where appropriate to ensure adherence to best practices and fit-for-purpose, user-focused development.
  • Demonstrable growth mindset; enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to improve the development and test cycles.
  • Determination and application of testing methodology/methodologies to ensure overarching quality on a vast range of projects.
  • Develops strong documentation that proves the quality of solutions under review; this documentation includes but is not limited to test plans, test strategies, test cases and/or testing matrix.
  • Applies advanced Salesforce technical principles and concepts; contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Testing in relation to new integrations and existing integration troubleshooting.
  • Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives; work checked through consultation and agreement with business stakeholders more often than by formal review of superior.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
