About Nottingham Seafood

Nottingham Seafood is a growing fresh fish and seafood supplier, supplying high-quality products to businesses across Nottingham and the wider Midlands. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Salesperson to join our team and help grow our customer base and sales.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Salesperson to develop new business and build strong, long-term relationships with existing customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new customers, contacting potential clients, following up on sales opportunities and increasing sales across our customer base.

This is a hands-on sales role suited to someone who is confident speaking to customers, enjoys building relationships and is motivated by achieving results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and generate new customer accounts.
  • Contact restaurants, pubs, hotels, caterers, wholesalers and other food businesses to introduce Nottingham Seafood.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Regularly follow up with customers to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Promote our range of fresh fish and seafood products.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products.
  • Prepare and provide quotations and pricing where required.
  • Negotiate prices and agree sales with customers.
  • Meet and exceed agreed sales targets.
  • Keep accurate records of customers, enquiries, orders and sales activity.
  • Follow up on outstanding enquiries and potential customers.
  • Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities within the market.
  • Work closely with the management and operations teams to ensure customers receive excellent service.
  • Help resolve customer queries and issues quickly and professionally.
  • Maintain a professional image when dealing with customers and representing Nottingham Seafood.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in sales, business development or account management.
  • Experience within the food, hospitality, catering or seafood industry would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident speaking to customers both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Highly motivated and target-driven.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence is preferred.
  • Knowledge of fresh fish and seafood would be an advantage, but full product training can be provided for the right candidate.

The role will involve a combination of office-based work, telephone sales and visiting customers across the Midlands.
