SALON ASSISTANT WANTED

Salon Sloane, Sloane Square

Salon Sloane is a luxury hair salon in the heart of Sloane Square, and we are looking for a new Salon Assistant to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, well presented, organised, reliable and hardworking, and who genuinely enjoys being around people.

About the Role

The role is an important part of the day-to-day running of the salon. You will be working closely with our stylists and colourists, helping to make sure our clients are looked after from the moment they arrive and that the salon is kept to a high standard throughout the day.

Your day-to-day role will include:

  • Greeting clients and making them feel welcome
  • Taking coats and personal belongings
  • Gowning clients for their appointments
  • Washing and preparing clients’ hair
  • Making and serving teas, coffees and water
  • Assisting our stylists and colourists throughout the day
  • Keeping the salon clean, tidy and organised
  • Keeping stations stocked and ready for the team
  • Helping with towels and laundry
  • General salon duties and making sure everything is where it should be
  • Helping wherever needed, particularly during busy periods

The Person We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes pride in what they do and understands that the little things make a big difference in a luxury salon.

You should be:

  • Well presented and professional
  • Friendly and confident when speaking to clients
  • A good communicator
  • Organised and good at managing your time
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to stay calm and work well when the salon gets busy
  • Someone who notices what needs doing rather than waiting to be told
  • Happy to get stuck in and help the team
  • Naturally clean and tidy
  • Positive, hardworking and willing to learn

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Being proactive is really important to us. There will be busy moments in the salon, and we need someone who can use their initiative and keep themselves busy. If you see that towels need folding, a station needs cleaning, a client needs looking after or something needs restocking, we want you to notice it and deal with it rather than waiting for somebody to ask.

We are a small team, so having someone who is dependable and willing to help wherever needed makes a huge difference.

Experience

Previous salon experience is a bonus but isn’t essential. More important to us is your attitude, work ethic, presentation and how you interact with people.

You may be someone who already has experience working in a salon, or you may be looking for your first opportunity in the industry.

We are also happy to hear from students currently studying at college 2 or 3 days a week, and we can consider both full-time and part-time applicants.

You do not have to be looking to become a hairdresser. If you simply enjoy working with people and would like to work in a beautiful, busy luxury salon environment, we would still love to hear from you.

About Salon Sloane

We are based in Sloane Square and work within a luxury, client-focused environment. Our clients expect a high level of service, attention to detail and professionalism, so we are looking for someone who naturally understands and enjoys working to those standards.

How to Apply

Please send us your CV along with a short introduction about yourself.

We would also like you to tell us:

  • Why you would like to work at Salon Sloane
  • What experience you have in customer service or working with people
  • What you think makes someone a good Salon Assistant
  • Your availability and whether you are looking for full-time or part-time work

We will be looking for someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about the position, so please take a little time with your application rather than sending just a CV.

A paid trial shift will be part of the recruitment process, as we feel it’s important for both you and us to see whether the role and the team are the right fit.

If you are friendly, hardworking, switched-on and take pride in doing a good job, we’d love to hear from you.
