Position Overview
Labcorp is seeking a Sample Handling Assistant to join our Sample Management team at our site in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire.
Work Schedule
- 37.5h/week, Monday – Friday 08:30 - 5pm
Job Responsibilities
- Performing any combination of sample management tasks, including labelling, receipt, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping, and disposal of samples and / or materials
- Sample accession core tasks, including box opening, inventory / labelling, receipt / store, and pulls / returns
- Using tracking systems as appropriate to maintain sample and study integrity
- Documenting and communicating discrepancies to appropriate personnel, and assisting with problem solving
- Maintaining storage units
- Ensuring company procedures are followed in relation to security and access to relevant areas and data or sample integrity

Minimum Qualifications
- National level of education (c / 4 or above) in Science, Math and English GCSE or equivalent
Additional Job Standards
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics or sample handling role advantageous
- Competent in using software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook
- Good attention to detail paired with time management and organisational skills
- Ability to learn new systems
- Physical requirements include, but not are limited to, standing, bending, reaching and some lifting
- Will work with -20ºC, -70ºC freezers and refrigerated samples
- This is an office-based role and you may be required to visit other departments around the site
- Please note, due to the remote location of this site, there are no public transport links available
- Full training will be provided, and this is an ideal role for someone looking to make a change and build a long-term career within Science!
