Sample Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Sample Machinist with excellent attention to detail and a true passion for craftmanship. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a sample room with high end finishes and fine fabrics such as embroidery, laces, silk, tulle & stretch mesh. Experience in lingerie construction is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Fast and precise sample cutting, knowledge of fabrics and grain lines is vital
  • Working closely with the Technical Team, to create accurate prototype garments suitable for fittings, shoots and trade shows
  • Following patterns and specifications, ensuring samples are within tolerance and meet our high-quality standards
  • Monitoring component & fabric stock levels
  • Quality control of your own work
  • Maintaining strong communication channels with the Technical Team
  • Working alongside other machinists to share workload, communicate progress and meet deadlines efficiently

Requirements

  • Strong sewing skills and a passion for your job
  • Accurate and efficient industrial sewing machine skills - Lockstitch, Overlock, Twin Needle, Zigzag, Binding Feet etc
  • Experience working with stretch mesh, stretch jersey, fine tulle, silk satin and embroidery
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to quality check your own work
  • The ability to understand complicated patterns and garment construction
  • The ability to clearly communicate ideas and offer suggestions for improved construction
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Lingerie experience is highly advantageous, but training can be provided
  • 3+ years' experience working in a sewing room

Hours: Monday – Friday (flexible)

Salary: Dependent on experience
