Job Description
About the Role
We have an amazing new opportunity to become a Sampling Supervisor as part of the Sampling Operations Water North Team within our Laboratory and Sampling department.
Reporting into the Sampling Manager, the Supervisor role will lead a team of Sampling Technicians across the Northumbrian Water region. You will have responsibility for ensuring that the Drinking Water Inspectorate and Environment Agency sample programs are collected in accordance with regulatory requirements and our quality system required for UKAS accreditation is followed.
This is a great opportunity to make a real difference and lead the team to deliver excellent results. You will have responsibility for planning the team Rotas and workload and need to be flexible to manage changing requirements.

About You
We’re looking for you to be highly self-motivated, able to work to deadlines and have a flexible and positive ‘can do’ attitude in your approach to work.
You will understand Sampling and Analysis Regulations (DWI drinking water regs, MCERTS and Private Water Supply) and have a good working knowledge of sampling processes and methods.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills along with strong attention to detail to manage the quality system.
We are looking for someone that is self-motivated and has personal values that align with our organisational core values. You will be reliable and adaptable to changing and challenging situations.
Ideally you will have previous supervisory and people management experience and have worked in a UKAS Laboratory accredited environment and hold a full driving license.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
