Remote with occasional London travel | 12-Month Maternity Cover | Inside IR35
We're supporting a leading Global Insurance Client in the search for an experienced Sanctions Advisor with Russia Sanctions Advice and Insurance / Broking experience to join their Financial Crime team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a sanctions specialist who can confidently provide practical, risk-based advice across a complex international business, managing high-risk referrals, payment screening escalations, sanctions investigations, and regulatory change activities.

What you'll be doing:
- Leading complex sanctions and export controls referrals across global operations
- Providing expert advice on UK, EU, UN and US, and Russia sanctions regulations
- Reviewing ownership & control, payment screening, claims, licensing and due diligence matters
- Supporting sanctions investigations, policy development, training and assurance activities
- Partnering with Legal, Compliance, Operations and Business stakeholders globally
- Contributing to strategic sanctions projects, controls enhancement and regulatory change initiatives

Experience Required:
- Proven sanctions compliance, financial crime, legal, regulatory or risk experience
- Strong knowledge of UK, EU, UN and US, and Russia sanctions regimes
- Experience handling complex sanctions cases and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice in a highly regulated environment
- Insurance or financial services experience
- Export controls knowledge beneficial
