Interim Sanctions Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Interim Sanctions Lawyer to support a leading law firm in London on a temporary basis.

The successful candidate will provide advice on a broad range of UK, EU and international sanctions matters, working on complex and time-sensitive issues across sanctions compliance, licensing, restrictions and transactional queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on UK, EU and international sanctions regimes and related regulatory requirements.
  • Provide practical guidance on sanctions compliance, restrictions, licensing and transactional matters.
  • Support partners and associates on complex and time-sensitive client matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analyse evolving sanctions regulations and developments.
  • Draft and review legal advice, memoranda and other sanctions-related documentation.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver commercially focused and pragmatic advice.
  • Manage competing priorities effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with strong experience in sanctions law.
  • Experience advising on UK, EU and international sanctions regimes.
  • Ideally gained experience within a leading law firm and/or financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical, drafting and legal research skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to time-sensitive matters.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to provide clear and practical legal advice.
