Sanitation Porter

The Harley Street Clinic

Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Shifts between 7:30am and 9:00pm, 5 days out of 7 including weekends

Permanent

£28,860 + excellent benefits

We're looking for a Sanitation Porter to join our Facilities team based at The Harley Street Clinic. The Facilities team plays a crucial role in ensuring the hospital remains a safe, clean and compliant environment for patients, visitors and colleagues. Supporting one of the UK's leading private hospitals, the team is responsible for maintaining high environmental and safety standards across the site, helping to deliver the exceptional patient experience that HCA Healthcare UK is known for.

As a Sanitation Porter you'll be responsible for the safe collection, transportation and disposal of multiple waste streams across the hospital. From managing clinical and cytotoxic waste to maintaining waste storage areas and supporting fire and safety procedures, you'll play an important role in keeping the hospital running efficiently. This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to patient care behind the scenes whilst working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.

Above all else, we're committed to the care and improvement of human life. It's this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Others may think this is just a role in Facilities, but to us, you'll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.

What you'll do:

  • Collect domestic, recycling, clinical and cytotoxic waste from all hospital areas.
  • Supply new sharps bins and collect full sharps bins in line with hospital procedures.
  • Operate the cardboard baler and manage battery and food waste collections.
  • Clean waste storage areas and external areas across the site.
  • Carry out periodic deep cleaning of wheelie bins and support the hospital fire and safety team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
