£74 per hour via Umbrella
Newport – 100% onsite
Initial 6-month contract

ABOUT THE CLIENT
A leading European Defence organisation is seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Specialist to support the migration of a recent UK acquisition into their SAP ECC6 environment.
This is a key role within a major data migration programme, supporting data preparation, cleansing, conversion, loading and reconciliation through iterative migration cycles. We are looking for an experienced SAP Data Migration Specialist to help ensure business readiness and a successful go-live.
THE SAP DATA MIGRATION SPECIALIST ROLE:
As a SAP Data Migration Specialist, you will support the end-to-end migration of data from a non-SAP source system into SAP ECC6.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Producing and maintaining data migration plans, mapping specifications and runbooks.
- Supporting business teams with cleansing and preparation of non-SAP data.
- Preparing templates for master and transactional data.
- Maintaining source-to-target mapping documentation and transformation rules.
- Supporting data extraction and transformation activities.
- Developing migration test scripts using tools such as LSMW.
- Executing migration test loads and troubleshooting failures and defects.
- Supporting dress rehearsals and performing data reconciliations.
- Contributing to cut-over and go-live planning.
- Supporting production data migration activities.
- Providing post-go-live support and hypercare.
SAP DATA MIGRATION SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Hands-on experience performing data migrations from non-SAP systems into SAP ECC6.
- Experience developing data migration load programmes, particularly LSMW.
- Strong understanding of SAP data objects.
- Experience with data conversion, mapping and transformation.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving data load defects and failures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with functional consultants and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
