SAP Development Lead
Hybrid role (Remote/on-site), UK
The Opportunity
As a SAP Development Lead, you will take a leading role in designing and delivering innovative, cutting-edge SAP solutions for some of the world’s leading Life Sciences organisations. Working across modern S/4HANA environments, you will combine deep ABAP expertise with technical leadership, taking ownership of development delivery and leading teams across geographically dispersed locations.
Tenthpin works at the forefront of SAP innovation in Life Sciences, giving you the opportunity to work with modern SAP technologies and help solve complex challenges across major global transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development and delivery of innovative ABAP solutions and enhancements within S/4HANA environments.
- Lead and coordinate development teams across geographically dispersed locations, ensuring quality, consistency and effective delivery.
- Provide technical direction, guidance and mentoring to developers across project teams.
- Drive modern ABAP development using ABAP in Eclipse, supporting clean core principles and modern extensibility approaches.
- Develop and expose Core Data Services using OData and RESTful approaches.
- Collaborate with integration, functional and technical teams to deliver solutions across S/4HANA and SAP BTP architectures.
- Work directly with clients to understand complex requirements, challenge where appropriate and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Take ownership of development quality, technical standards and delivery across the project lifecycle.

Your Experience
You are an accomplished SAP development professional with a demonstrable history of leading technical delivery within complex S/4HANA programmes. You remain technically credible and hands-on, but are equally comfortable leading teams, engaging with clients and taking ownership of successful development delivery.
Relevant experience and capabilities include:
- A demonstrable history of delivering complex ABAP development within S/4HANA environments.
- Experience leading and managing development teams across geographically dispersed locations.
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers and setting development standards and best practices.
- Experience across multiple full lifecycle S/4HANA implementation projects.
- Strong experience with CDS Views, OData APIs and REST services.
- Experience designing and delivering enhancements aligned with clean core principles.
- Strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture and modern extensibility approaches.
- Strong client-facing experience within a consulting or professional services environment, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- SAP certifications in ABAP or related technologies are desirable.
- Fluent in English; any additional language is a plus.
