DP World is looking for an experienced SAP Electrical Engineer (Senior Authorised Person) to play a critical role in maintaining and developing the high-voltage electrical infrastructure that powers Southampton Port.
About the Role:
As our Senior Authorised Person (SAP), you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, reliability and safety of the port's HV and LV electrical infrastructure.
- Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for Southampton Port, ensuring compliance with electrical safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Maintain the availability and reliability of the port's electrical distribution network.
- Lead electrical switching operations and provide technical support during planned maintenance and emergency outages.
- Manage electrical infrastructure projects from design through construction and commissioning.
- Oversee contractors, consultants and specialist engineering suppliers.
- Develop maintenance strategies that maximise network reliability while minimising operational disruption.
- Ensure SCADA, BMS and metering systems effectively monitor electrical assets and energy consumption.
- Drive compliance with DP World's Electrical Safe System of Work and relevant industry regulations.
- Support the development and assessment of authorised electrical personnel.
- Contribute to future infrastructure upgrades that support the continued growth of Southampton Port.

- HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience operating, maintaining and developing HV (>max 11kv) and LV electrical infrastructure.
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience or the capability to undertake SAP responsibilities.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, substations, protection systems and power networks.
- Experience managing electrical engineering projects and contractors.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Experience using SCADA, BMS and electrical monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to support planned shutdowns and emergency call-outs when required.
