The Role

We’re looking for a Senior SAP Finance Systems leader to take end-to-end ownership of our global SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud finance solution. You’ll be accountable for the integrity and evolution of the global finance template across multiple countries and legal entities, acting as the final authority on FICO configuration and process design. You’ll also own the live application - from user support, change and release management through to integrations, statutory compliance and digital tax requirements - ensuring the platform remains stable, controlled and fit for a complex international business.

This is a role for someone who wants to combine strategic ownership with hands-on delivery. You’ll set the SAP S/4 improvement roadmap based on business value, lead delivery and automation, and identify where reporting, analytics and AI can make a meaningful difference. Alongside this, you’ll lead a small, geographically distributed SAP team and manage external partners, while building strong relationships with Finance teams across Europe and Latin America. The challenge is to balance a consistent global template with local needs, while continually turning the SAP platform into greater business value.

Desirable Skills:

  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition experience - practical, hands-on experience configuring and evolving a Public Cloud finance solution, with a strong understanding of its capabilities, constraints and extensibility model
  • In-house SAP ownership: Experience owning or product-leading a live SAP solution from within a business, including support, release management, change control and continuous improvement, rather than exclusively delivering SAP through a consultancy or systems integrator
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both finance users and technical stakeholders
  • A solid understanding of the accounting and business processes underpinning SAP Finance, with the confidence to challenge and improve processes rather than simply configure to instruction
  • A track record across design, build, testing, deployment, hypercare and steady-state operation in a multi-country, multi-entity and multi-currency environment, including exposure to local statutory and tax requirements
  • Experience leading or mentoring a small, hands-on team and managing external SAP and application management partners, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive accountability for quality and outcomes
  • Proven experience in identifying opportunities to improve, automate and derive greater value from SAP, with the ability to prioritise a roadmap around business value and work effectively across Finance, Technology and Data
  • Strong hands-on capability across GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, cost and profitability, bank accounting and financial close, with the breadth to understand the end-to-end finance solution rather than specialising in a single module

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
