The Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP Payroll Configuration Specialist to support and enhance an SAP ECC6 HR Payroll environment.

This is a specialist configuration role rather than a payroll processing position. You will be responsible for delivering payroll configuration changes, supporting legislative updates, working with Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), carrying out testing and investigating complex payroll issues.

You will work closely with Payroll, Finance, ICT and other stakeholders, supporting change requests from initial impact assessment through to configuration, implementation and testing.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SAP Payroll professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving systems and working in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and enhance SAP ECC6 HR Payroll solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payroll and system issues, carrying out detailed root cause analysis.
  • Design and implement payroll configuration changes, including Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs).
  • Assess, configure, test and implement system changes and enhancement requests.
  • Support payroll-related projects, legislative updates and SAP support pack upgrades.
  • Carry out system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), investigating and resolving defects.
  • Ensure configuration changes are accurately documented and recorded.
  • Work closely with Payroll, Finance, ICT and other stakeholders to deliver effective payroll solutions.
  • Provide specialist advice on SAP functionality, SAP Notes, support packs and potential system improvements.
  • Contribute to the stability, performance and continuous improvement of the SAP Payroll environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
