SAP Programme Manager - S/4 HANA
Location: UK, Hybrid
Contract: 6-12 months, with potential extensions
We are seeking an experienced SAP Programme Director to lead a major SAP S/4HANA upgrade and transformation programme from assessment and business case development through to implementation, cutover, go-live and stabilisation.
This is a senior customer-side leadership role, acting as the single point of accountability across business teams, SAP, system integrators and third-party partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA programme, including scope, roadmap, budget, governance and benefits.
- Lead programme strategy, business case development, funding and investment approvals.
- Manage senior stakeholders across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and Technology.
- Lead and govern system integrators, SAP and third-party vendors.
- Establish programme governance, reporting, decision rights, RAID management and escalation routes.
- Integrate business, functional, technical, data, testing, change and operational workstreams.
- Oversee SAP RISE readiness and associated application, infrastructure and integration dependencies.
- Lead test strategy, business validation, cutover, go-live decision-making and hypercare.
- Drive business change, communications, training and organisational readiness.
- Challenge assumptions, manage risks and dependencies, and provide clear recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ensure programme outputs translate into an executable plan with validated resources, costs, timelines and acceptance criteria.

Essential Experience
- Significant experience leading complex, business-critical SAP programmes in a customer-side leadership capacity.
- Proven ownership from assessment and business case through execution, cutover and stabilisation.
- Strong executive stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing system integrators, SAP and multiple third-party vendors.
- Strong commercial, financial, governance, planning, risk and dependency management capability.
- Ability to integrate multiple programme workstreams into a single delivery plan.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and executive reporting skills.
- Strong understanding of business change and organisational readiness.

Desirable
- Direct experience delivering SAP S/4HANA upgrades or major SAP transformations.
- SAP RISE or cloud-hosted SAP experience.
- Knowledge of SAP Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Experience within logistics, distribution, warehousing or operationally intensive environments.
- Experience developing business cases and benefits realisation plans.
- MSP, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent programme management qualification.
