SAP PS Functional Consultant - Hybrid - SC Cleared
We are seeking an experienced SAP Project System (PS) Functional Consultant to join a major SAP transformation programme. Working as part of the client-side team, the successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise across SAP PS whilst acting as an informed customer representative, overseeing and assuring the delivery of the Systems Integrator (SI).
This is a key role focused on ensuring that the SAP solution design, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment activities meet business requirements, adhere to programme standards, and deliver the expected business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP PS Functional Leadership
- Act as the client-side Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP Project System (PS).
- Review and challenge SI solution designs, functional specifications, and configuration decisions.
- Ensure SAP PS processes align with business requirements and programme objectives.
- Support the definition of target operating model, business processes, and governance standards.
- Provide assurance over SAP PS configuration, testing, data migration, and deployment activities.

Systems Integrator Assurance
- Review and assure SI deliverables for quality, completeness, and alignment with agreed requirements.
- Participate in design authority, architecture reviews, and governance forums.
- Identify risks, issues, and gaps within proposed solutions and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide informed challenge to the SI and ensure adherence to SAP best practice.
Cross-Functional SAP Collaboration
- Work closely with functional leads across SAP modules to ensure end-to-end process integrity.
- Assess impacts of changes across integrated business processes.
- Support integration design and testing activities across the SAP landscape.
Programme Delivery Support
- Support business stakeholders with requirements clarification and solution validation.
- Assist with SIT, UAT, defect management, and business readiness activities.
- Contribute to cutover planning and transition into support.
- Support reporting and status updates to programme leadership.
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as an SAP PS Functional Consultant on large-scale SAP transformation programmes.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Project Structures (WBS)
- Networks and Activities
- Cost Planning and Budgeting
- Revenue Recognition
- Project Settlement
- Resource Planning
- Project Reporting
- Integration with Finance and Controlling
- Experience working in a client-side assurance, intelligent client, design authority, or governance role overseeing Systems Integrators.
- Demonstrable experience reviewing and assuring SAP solution designs and deliverables.
- Strong understanding of SAP programme lifecycle including:
- Design
- Build
- Test
- Data Migration
- Deployment
- Hypercare

- SAP CPM (Commercial Project Management) desirable
- SAP Analytics and Reporting solutions
- Experience across SAP S/4HANA environments is highly desirable.
