Position: SAP S/4 EWM Consultant

Employment Type: Contract/Freelance
Utilisation: 2/3 days per week
Start: November 2026
Duration: 2-3 months initially

Role: We are seeking an experienced SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Functional Consultant to provide hands-on coaching, operational training and knowledge transfer to key users within a live SAP EWM environment.

This engagement focuses on developing internal SAP EWM expertise, improving user confidence and increasing operational independence, rather than traditional incident resolution or technical support.

Working directly with warehouse teams and SAP EWM key users, you will provide practical, day-to-day guidance, deliver structured training and develop documentation to help users understand, manage and troubleshoot their daily warehouse processes independently.

The initial engagement will involve a minimum of 20 onsite consulting days, delivered approximately 2–3 days per week, with the opportunity to extend based on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

SAP EWM Key User Coaching & Support

  • Provide hands-on SAP EWM coaching and operational guidance to key users in their daily activities.
  • Help users understand and independently resolve operational issues through structured coaching rather than direct issue fixing.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and develop practical approaches to strengthen internal SAP EWM capabilities.
  • Build user confidence and improve ownership of day-to-day warehouse processes.

Functional Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Deliver tailored SAP EWM functional and operational training sessions to key users and warehouse teams.
  • Provide practical, scenario-based training using real warehouse processes and operational challenges.
  • Explain SAP EWM functionality, process flows, common errors and troubleshooting approaches.
  • Develop internal expertise and reduce dependency on external SAP support.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Create and maintain SAP EWM user guides, work instructions, training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Document standard warehouse processes, best practices and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process understanding, efficiency and operational consistency.
  • Establish reusable training materials to support ongoing knowledge transfer and onboarding.

Key Skills

  • Strong hands-on functional experience with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) in live warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience delivering SAP EWM key user training, functional coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Strong understanding of SAP EWM warehouse processes, operational workflows and day-to-day user activities.
  • Ability to explain complex SAP EWM functionality clearly to non-technical warehouse users.
  • Experience producing user guides, SOPs, work instructions and functional training documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on coaching users to resolve issues independently.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and training facilitation skills.
  • Comfortable working onsite alongside warehouse operations and key users.
