We are looking for a visionary Senior SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect
to shape and lead a major digital transformation programme at one of the UK's leading aviation MRO facilities, based in Cardiff (Nantgarw), Wales.
This is a 6-month contract (Inside IR35) or Fixed Term engagement with an immediate start.
THE ROLE
You will define the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA architecture for a complex ECC to S/4HANA transformation programme within an aerospace MRO environment. Acting as the most senior SAP voice on the programme, you will bridge technical design and business strategy, engaging at C-suite and steering committee level while leading cross-functional delivery teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define end-to-end target architecture and transformation roadmap for ECC to S/4HANA migration in an aerospace MRO environment
- Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops and drive Clean Core architecture principles
- Oversee integration design across SAP PM, MM, FICO and adjacent systems (MES, PLM, third-party MRO platforms)
- Champion SAP BTP for side-by-side extensions and SAP CPI for integration governance
- Serve as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and steering committees — translating complex architecture decisions into clear business value
- Lead, mentor and align global delivery teams, functional analysts and development partners
- Govern data migration strategy and hypercare stabilisation
- Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations including AS9100 and relevant export control requirements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as an SAP Solution Architect on large-scale S/4HANA transformation programmes — NOT configuration only
- Aerospace and/or Aviation MRO industry background — MANDATORY, non-negotiable
- Deep expertise in SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) — primary module
- Strong SAP MM knowledge — primary module
- SAP FICO knowledge — supporting integration awareness required
- Both business AND technical skills — must be able to run executive workshops AND design integration architecture
- Strong stakeholder management at Director / C-suite level
- SAP Activate methodology experience
- Right to work in the UK without sponsorship (British citizen, ILR, or EU Settled Status)

HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- SAP BTP and Clean Core architecture experience
- SAP CPI / Integration Suite knowledge
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and ITAR compliance
- Experience with engine serialisation, life-limited parts tracking or rotable asset management in SAP
- Previous experience at GE Aerospace, Rolls-Royce, Airbus, BAE Systems, Collins Aerospace or similar tier-1 aerospace
- MES / PLM integration experience within aerospace environments
LOCATION & CONTRACT DETAILS
- Location: Cardiff (Nantgarw), Wales — Hybrid working
- Duration: 6 months (Inside IR35) or 6-month Fixed Term
- Start: Immediate / ASAP
- Rate: Competitive — based on experience
