SAP S/4HANA Tax Expert (Private Cloud)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Tax Expert to lead the tax workstream for a global SAP transformation spanning multiple countries. You will be responsible for designing a scalable global tax solution, integrating SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud with a third-party tax engine such as Vertex, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, or equivalent, while ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end SAP tax workstream and act as the senior tax SME.
- Design global tax processes covering VAT/GST, sales and use tax, withholding tax, and cross-border transactions.
- Define global templates, localisation requirements, and governance for tax determination, calculation, posting, and reporting.
- Design and oversee SAP integration with a third-party tax engine.
- Translate business and compliance requirements into functional designs, configuration, interfaces, and test scenarios.
- Collaborate with Finance, Architecture, Integration, Data, and Testing teams to deliver a robust solution.
- Support workshops, fit-to-standard sessions, testing, cutover, and hypercare activities.
- Manage tax-related risks, controls, reconciliations, and exception handling processes.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA tax solutions within large enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience integrating SAP with Vertex, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, or similar tax platforms.
- Deep knowledge of global indirect tax processes and multi-country ERP rollouts.
- Strong SAP functional design and configuration expertise across Finance and integrated business processes.
- Experience defining interfaces, data requirements, controls, and reconciliation processes.
- Ability to engage senior business and technical stakeholders and lead complex workshops.

Desirable
- Experience delivering tax solutions within large-scale global SAP transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of e-invoicing, statutory reporting, and SAP Document & Reporting Compliance.
- Understanding of SAP cloud integration architectures and tax reporting platforms.
- Previous tax workstream leadership or design authority experience.
