Role Summary
The SAP Sales & Distribution Consultant is a senior member of the UK Customer Success team, providing expert functional support and advisory services across a diverse portfolio of managed-services customers. Working primarily remotely, the role resolves complex SAP SD issues, delivers high-quality change and enhancement services, and identifies opportunities for sustainable process improvement. The consultant combines deep functional expertise, strong analytical capability and effective stakeholder engagement to translate business requirements into robust, value-led SAP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day functional support for SAP SD within a managed-services framework, including incident and service-request resolution, configuration changes, end-user support, testing, and deployment of fixes and enhancements.
- Deliver second- and third-line advisory services to UK-based customers, many with global operations, by recommending process improvements, promoting leading practice, assessing change requests and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Engage proactively with customers to understand business requirements and translate them into effective, supportable SAP solutions.
- Apply structured problem-solving and initiative to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including MM, FI, ABAP and Basis, to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Monitor service-level performance and ensure tickets are resolved within agreed timescales while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Manage workload and priorities independently, consistently meeting expectations for quality, productivity and utilisation.

Essential Skills & Experience
- A minimum of six years’ hands-on experience in SAP SD, with a proven record of supporting and configuring core Sales & Distribution processes.
- Deep knowledge of order management, pricing, billing, shipping and credit management.
- Practical experience of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments, with the confidence to navigate, configure and support both.
- Specialist knowledge of relevant SAP SD capabilities, including:
- Rebates and condition contracts
- Intercompany processes
- Advanced Available-to-Promise and backorder processing
- International trade
- Plants abroad
- Strong cross-functional knowledge across FI/CO, MM, PP and WM.
- Working knowledge of sales-related IDocs, including setup, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Proven ownership of SAP SD solutions throughout the lifecycle, from analysis and design through implementation, testing and ongoing support.
- Ability to explain proposed solutions clearly and logically to technical SAP users and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong customer-facing troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to bridge business users and technical teams.
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- A strong commitment to continuous learning and the ability to adopt new technologies and skills quickly.
- A demonstrable commitment to high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction and measurable value creation.
- Willingness and ability to travel for business, up to a maximum of 25%.
