📍 Reading, UK (Hybrid - 3 to 4 days onsite per week) 📅 Start: Mid-September ⏳ Initial 3-Month Contract (Strong Extension Potential). Inside IR35
We're partnering with a large enterprise organisation embarking on a strategic review of its SAP security landscape and are seeking an experienced SAP Security Architect to lead the assessment and define the future-state security and governance approach.
This engagement will focus on evaluating the current SAP Security and GRC environment across both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, identifying risks and improvement opportunities, and developing a roadmap for a broader security transformation programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of SAP Security and Authorisation architecture across ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Review roles, profiles, authorisations, Segregation of Duties (SoD), emergency access and privileged access controls.
- Assess current SAP GRC capabilities, processes and controls.
- Analyse security incidents and identify underlying governance, process, design and operational gaps.
- Evaluate compliance against security best practices and audit requirements.
- Facilitate workshops with IT, business, audit and compliance stakeholders.
- Identify key risks, security pain points and remediation priorities.
- Define target-state SAP Security and GRC architecture recommendations.
- Produce a high-level implementation roadmap and transformation approach.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and programme sponsors.

Required Experience
- ✅ SAP Security experience with a strong architecture, consulting or advisory background.
- ✅ Proven expertise across both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Security.
- ✅ Strong knowledge of:
- SAP Authorisations
- Role Design
- Segregation of Duties (SoD)
- User Provisioning
- Security Governance
- ✅ Hands-on experience with SAP GRC Access Control, including:
- Risk Analysis & Remediation (RAR)
- Access Request Management (ARM)
- Emergency Access Management (EAM)
- Business Role Management (BRM)
- ✅ Previous experience delivering SAP Security assessments, audits or transformation programmes.
- ✅ Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and executive-level communication skills.

Desirable Experience
- SAP Security transformation leadership experience.
- SAP GRC implementation experience.
- Exposure to SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, Identity & Access Governance (IAG) and cloud security.
- Experience working with audit, risk and compliance teams.
Key Deliverables
- Current-state SAP Security assessment.

- Risk and control gap assessment.
- Target-state architecture recommendations.
- SAP GRC roadmap and implementation approach.
- Implementation readiness and business case recommendations.
