We are Hiring SAP Security Architect role in Manchester, UK

SAP Security Architect role

Contractor rate: 350 GBP/Day

Shift: Regular

Location: UK Manchester

Mode: Hybrid

An SAP Security Architect designs, governs, and manages enterprise security frameworks for SAP landscapes. Core duties involve overseeing authorization concepts, implementing cloud security controls, and ensuring compliance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and govern enterprise security frameworks and architecture patterns across hybrid or cloud SAP environments.
  • Manage user access, authorizations, and segregation of duties (SoD) controls.
  • Configure security roles and profiles across modules like S/4HANA, ECC, and GRC.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Integrate SAP platforms with Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems.
  • Also an SAP Security Architect specializing in an ECC-to-S/4HANA migration designs, governs, and executes the security strategy to transition from legacy profile-based access to modern SAP HANA database and application security models. This role bridges the gap between traditional ABAP security and modern cloud/hybrid framework standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Migration Strategy: Architect the security transition roadmap from legacy SAP ECC environments to target SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA database landscapes.
  • HANA DB Security: Design and implement robust database-level security policies, including HANA analytical privileges, schemas, and user management.
  • Role Conversion: Map and redesign traditional ECC transaction-based roles into S/4HANA role structures, utilizing Fiori catalogs, groups, and OData services.
  • SoD & GRC Governance: Re-engineer Segregation of Duties (SoD) matrices and rule sets within SAP GRC or standard access controls to align with new S/4HANA business processes.
  • Identity Management Integration: Integrate legacy and modern SAP systems with enterprise Central Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools via Single Sign-On (SSO) and SAML protocols.
  • Vulnerability & Compliance: Perform threat modelling, vulnerability assessments, and strict compliance alignment (e.g., SOX, GDPR) across the hybrid "during-migration" state.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 10 to 12+ years in SAP Security, with at least 1 full-lifecycle ECC to S/4HANA migration project.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SAP ECC role design, SAP HANA Studio/Cockpit database security, and SAP Fiori authorizations.
  • Tooling Knowledge: Strong hands-on experience with SAP GRC (Access Control/Process Control) and security migration tools (like SAP Readiness Check).
  • Skills:
    • Expert-level knowledge of custom transaction codes (Z-codes) security remediation and SU24 authorization object maintenance
    • Strong technical expertise in SAP authorization, GRC, and cloud security frameworks.
    • Knowledge of compliance regulations and audit frameworks.
    • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
