Principal-level ERP Solution Architect with SAP Expertise
Realtime Recruitment is seeking a principal-level ERP Solution Architect with deep SAP technical expertise to join a major national programme being built from the ground up. The programme covers the technology, business, and operational readiness needed to take a new, high-volume service live.
This is a client-side role. An implementation partner is delivering the SAP solution, and the finance leads own the finance processes. You will be the independent technical voice alongside both, ensuring that what gets designed is coherent, secure, well integrated, and fit to run.
What you'll be doing
- Defining and maintaining the end-to-end technical architecture for the SAP solution: landscape, environments, integration, data, identity, security, resilience, performance, monitoring, and supportability
- Aligning the SAP design with enterprise architecture principles, Azure services, integration patterns, the data platform, and connected core systems
- Reviewing and challenging the implementation partner's technical designs, assumptions, dependencies, extensions, and non-standard components
- Assessing the technical impact of proposed configuration, extensions, third-party products, custom development, and manual workarounds
- Defining and assuring interface architecture, data contracts, mappings, integration controls, error handling, observability, and technical reconciliation
- Working with Cyber, Enterprise Architecture, and Technology Operations on access, security roles, segregation of duties, data protection, environments, release controls, and transition to service
- Giving technical input to design authority, quality gates, testing, migration, cutover, and readiness decisions, flagging risks, and recommending actions
- Translating finance requirements into technical implications and confirming the partner's design addresses them

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
