Shape the Future of SAP at Tarmac
Are you an experienced SAP Solution Architect looking for the opportunity to lead a large-scale S/4HANA transformation within one of the UK's leading construction materials businesses?
At Tarmac, we're embarking on a significant digital transformation journey and are looking for a strategic SAP Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in designing and delivering our future SAP landscape. This is a unique opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology decisions, drive innovation, and help shape the future of our business-critical systems.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Technology, Business Operations, and the wider CRH Group, you'll be responsible for ensuring our SAP solutions are scalable, secure, integrated, and aligned with long-term business goals.
What You'll Be Doing
As our SAP Solution Architect, you'll:
- Lead the architecture and delivery of SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration initiatives
- Define and drive the roadmap from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, including migration strategy, system conversion, and data readiness
- Design simplified, standardised and scalable SAP solutions that deliver business value across multiple business units
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to shape future-state architecture and digital transformation strategies
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP and wider enterprise platforms
- Champion SAP best practices, governance, security, compliance and enterprise architecture standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams, partners and suppliers
- Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies including SAP BTP, AI/ML capabilities, RISE with SAP, and cloud transformation opportunities
- Identify opportunities to maximise return on investment and create measurable business value from SAP technologies

What We're Looking For
You'll bring a combination of strong technical expertise, strategic thinking and stakeholder leadership, together with:
- Extensive experience in SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA architecture
- Proven success delivering complex enterprise-scale SAP transformation programmes
- Experience leading at least one end-to-end SAP S/4HANA migration
- Demonstrable understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA architecture, data models and business processes
- Knowledge of core SAP modules including FI/CO, MM, SD and PP
- Experience with SAP integration technologies including APIs, IDocs, BAPIs and OData
- Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology, Readiness Check and migration tooling
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAP BTP and cloud deployment models
- Understanding of IT controls, SAP security and SOX compliance requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and leadership skills
- Experience operating within Agile and DevOps environments
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
- SAP S/4HANA certification
- Experience with RISE with SAP
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
- Experience working within large, complex, multi-site organisations
