Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SAP HANA Solution Architect to support a strategic third-party spend control and recovery initiative.
The role will focus on identifying and preventing spend leakage across procurement and invoicing processes, including unapplied credits and rebates, off-rate-card and off-PO spend, invoicing outside approved utilisation, and unclaimed contractual penalties.
You will build and maintain a spend leakage register, prioritise opportunities based on financial exposure, define control requirements, and work with SAP, Ariba, Sirion CLM and analytics teams to implement effective controls.
The successful candidate will be hands-on and able to take requirements through functional design, configuration, testing and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyse and prioritise third-party spend leakage opportunities based on financial exposure.
- Build and maintain a leakage/control register covering credits, rebates, rate-card compliance, PO compliance and invoice discrepancies.
- Define functional and system requirements for procurement and invoice controls.
- Design controls across SAP, Ariba, Sirion CLM and/or detection analytics.
- Produce detailed functional specifications for SAP configuration and development teams.
- Support configuration, integration, testing and implementation of the required controls.
- Implement delivery-before-payment validation, invoice controls and exception-handling processes.
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, Contract Management and Technology teams.
- Support contract compliance and recovery activities, including invoice reconciliation and recovery of missed credits, rebates and penalties.
- Ensure controls are tested and operational before the end of the engagement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
