SAP Technical Architect - 4 Days a week in office
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect to lead the technical architecture and design across SAP SuccessFactors, S/4HANA Finance and SAP Ariba.
The Technical Architect will be responsible for defining technical solutions, integration architecture, development standards and extension strategies across the SAP landscape. The role will provide technical leadership to development teams and work closely with functional architects, business stakeholders, security and operations teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and define the technical architecture and solution design across SuccessFactors, S/4HANA Finance and SAP Ariba.
- Design and govern integration architecture between SAP platforms and third-party applications, covering both real-time and batch integrations.
- Define integration solutions using SAP CPI/PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, RFCs, REST and SOAP.
- Lead the technical architecture for S/4HANA Finance, including data models, Fiori/UI5 applications and extension strategies.
- Define appropriate SAP extension approaches, including SAP BTP, side-by-side extensions and in-app extensibility.
- Provide technical architecture and design for SAP Ariba, including Ariba Network, Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG), catalogues, contracts and Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Lead the technical architecture for SAP SuccessFactors, including Employee Central, Payroll integrations, Provisioning, OData APIs and extensions.
- Provide technical oversight of custom development using ABAP, RAP, CDS, AMDP, SAPUI5/Fiori and SAP BTP, as well as Java/Node.js where applicable.
- Define and enforce non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, availability, security, compliance and disaster recovery.
- Establish technical standards, coding standards, CI/CD processes, transport management and release governance.
- Conduct technical design and code reviews, ensuring solutions adhere to architectural standards and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout development, testing, deployment and go-live.
- Mentor technical teams and support the resolution of complex architectural and development issues.
- Work closely with functional architects, business architects, security and operations to ensure technical solutions meet business and operational requirements.
- Provide technical oversight during testing, deployment, go-live and post-production support.

- Strong experience working as a Technical Architect / SAP Technical Architect within complex enterprise SAP environments.
- Extensive technical experience across SAP S/4HANA Finance, SuccessFactors and SAP Ariba.
- Strong expertise in SAP integration architecture and middleware, particularly CPI/PI/PO.
- Hands-on understanding of APIs, IDocs, RFCs, REST and SOAP.
- Strong knowledge of ABAP, RAP, CDS, AMDP, SAPUI5/Fiori and SAP BTP.
- Experience designing SAP extension and integration strategies.
- Technical experience with SAP Ariba Network and Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG).
- Technical experience across SuccessFactors Employee Central, Payroll integration and OData APIs.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, development standards, transport management and release governance.
- Experience defining and managing non-functional requirements, including security, performance, availability and resilience.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership, mentoring and architectural governance to development teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical, functional and business teams.
