Role – We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect to lead the technical architecture across a major SAP S/4HANA transformation and SAP RISE environment.
This senior role will own the design and governance of the SAP technical landscape across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BTP, HANA, Basis, Fiori/UI5 and enterprise integration, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned with the wider technology roadmap.
You will provide technical leadership across SAP and integration teams, defining architecture standards and guiding technical delivery through implementation, testing, migration, go-live and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
AP Technical Architecture
- Define and govern the end-to-end SAP technical architecture across S/4HANA, ECC, BTP, HANA, Basis and Fiori/UI5.
- Design scalable SAP landscapes across DEV, QAS, PRD and Disaster Recovery, covering sizing, performance, availability and resilience.
- Provide technical leadership across ABAP, Fiori/UI5, OData, CDS Views, SAP Basis and development teams.
- Lead technical impact assessments, architecture reviews and performance optimisation across complex SAP environments.

Integration & BTP Architecture
- Define end-to-end integration architecture across SAP and non-SAP platforms using SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI), SAP PI/PO, REST/SOAP APIs, OData, IDocs and RFCs.
- Establish scalable API-led and event-driven integration patterns across enterprise applications.
- Provide architecture governance across SAP BTP, extensions, APIs and cloud integration, supporting future-ready SAP solutions.
Cloud, Security & Governance
- Define architecture across SAP HANA and cloud-hosted SAP environments, including Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Ensure technical solutions meet requirements across SAP Security, roles/authorisations, SSO, encryption, compliance, HA and Disaster Recovery.
- Establish technical standards, reusable frameworks and architecture governance, ensuring consistency across SAP delivery teams and partners.
Technical Leadership
- Lead technical architecture across major SAP implementations, migrations and S/4HANA transformation programmes.
- Govern solution designs and technical standards across multi-disciplinary and multi-vendor delivery teams.
- Mentor technical teams and influence senior stakeholders on key architecture, technology and platform decisions.

Key Skills:
- Extensive experience as an SAP Technical Architect, leading technical architecture across complex SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC environments.
- Deep expertise across SAP Basis, HANA architecture, system landscape design, sizing, performance tuning, High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
- Strong technical knowledge across ABAP, Fiori/UI5, OData and CDS Views, with the ability to provide architecture leadership across development teams.
- Strong SAP integration architecture experience across BTP Integration Suite/CPI, PI/PO, REST, SOAP, OData, IDocs and RFCs.
- Proven ability to design integration patterns across SAP and non-SAP enterprise applications, including API-led and event-driven architectures.
- Strong understanding of SAP BTP architecture and services, including extension and integration capabilities.
- Experience with SAP on Azure, AWS or GCP, alongside strong knowledge of SAP Security, authorisations, SSO, encryption and compliance.
- Proven experience leading technical workstreams across large-scale SAP implementations, migrations and S/4HANA transformations, with strong architecture governance and stakeholder management capability.
