About the Job

We are seeking experienced SAS Consultants/Data Engineers to join our growing team within a large, long-standing public-sector partnership. In this pivotal role within our Data Portfolio, you will contribute to helping our client maximize revenues, bear down on avoidance and evasion, and improve and transform systems.

Utilising your SAS expertise, you will help lead development, testing, and support of critical solutions in business and technical areas such as fraud detection, data management, business intelligence, application support, and/or analytics. You will work primarily with a product owner, scrum master, solutions architects, and fellow engineers, with regular client and key stakeholder interactions.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including:

  • identity
  • nationality (single or dual) or immigration status
  • employment history going back 3 continuous years
  • unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service)

Your Role

  • Design and implement robust, secure, and performant SAS-based solutions for data integration and analytics.
  • Build, operate, and improve data pipelines (e.g., ingestion, transformation, reporting, fraud detection, and analytics) with monitoring, alerting, and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with product teams and client stakeholders to refine requirements and align decisions to NFRs (cost, performance, security).
  • Support incident resolution and ensure service continuity.
  • Share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and contribute to Capgemini’s engineering communities of practice.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and work cross-functionally with engineers, analysts, and business teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
