ABOUT THE CLIENT

A major UK public sector organisation is undertaking a significant cloud migration programme, moving its existing SAS estate to SAS Viya 4 within an AWS environment.
This is an opportunity for an experienced SAS Data Engineer to support the migration of legacy data platforms, building and optimising data pipelines while ensuring data quality, security and performance throughout the transition.

THE SAS DATA ENGINEER ROLE:

As a SAS Data Engineer, you will design, develop and optimise data pipelines and integration processes to support the migration of an existing SAS estate, including SAS 9.4 and Viya 3.5 components, to SAS Viya 4 on AWS.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing ETL processes to migrate data from legacy SAS environments to SAS Viya 4.
  • Optimising data pipelines for performance, scalability and cloud-native delivery
  • Working with SAS developers to refactor existing jobs and ensure compatibility with Viya 4.
  • Implementing data transformations and validation rules to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
  • Automating data ingestion and processing workflows using DevOps tools, including Jenkins and Git.
  • Integrating data pipelines into CI/CD frameworks to support continuous delivery.
  • Monitoring data quality and pipeline health, implementing appropriate alerting and controls.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
