Job Title: Tactical Solutions Engineer - Link 16 & Tactical Gateways | UK Remote

Role:

Do you have hands-on tactical data link experience and the confidence to walk into a MOD site, configure equipment, and brief a two-star on how it works - all in the same day?

A globally recognised defence and satellite communications business is seeking a Tactical Solutions Engineer to join their Tactical Networking and Encryption team. The role is fully remote with regular travel to UK MOD sites and European exercises.

This is not a back-office or architecture-only role. The successful candidate will be the person who takes the product to the customer - demonstrating, configuring, troubleshooting, and communicating tactical gateway capability to audiences ranging from hands-on technical users through to senior military decision makers. Technical depth and customer-facing ability are required in equal measure.

The team operates with the agility of a startup whilst carrying the stability and resources of an established global defence business. The majority of engineers are ex-military, mission-focused, and highly collaborative. Their own team mission statement is to enable mission success for the military and government customers they serve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
