To support manufacturing operations by accurately cutting raw materials to specification, handling materials safely, and assisting with general workshop and labouring duties to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate band saws, safely and efficiently.
- Measure, mark, and cut steel, aluminium, or other engineering materials according to production drawings and job sheets.
- Load and unload raw materials using appropriate handling equipment.
- Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of saws and associated equipment.
- Ensure materials are correctly identified, labelled, and stored.
- Assist fabricators, machinists, welders, and other workshop personnel as required.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and free from hazards.
- Support stock control activities, including goods receipt and storage.
- Follow all company quality procedures and health and safety policies.
- Report equipment faults, damaged materials, or safety concerns to management.

Essential
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Ability to read tape measures and follow basic engineering drawings or cut lists.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience operating band saws or metal cutting equipment.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Overhead crane experience.
- Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
