This Head of Security Operations & Compliance role will sit within SBX Security, working closely with the Head of Security & Innovation, Compliance Director, operational teams, clients, suppliers, technology partners, and support functions to establish the operational, compliance, and governance framework that will underpin future growth.

This is a key leadership opportunity for someone who can combine strong security operations experience with a passion for compliance, governance, service excellence, quality management, and continuous improvement. You will help shape a growing security business by building robust operational structures, leading assurance activity, supporting contract mobilisation, and creating scalable processes that enable SBX Security to grow safely and professionally.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Security & Innovation, you will be responsible for the operational leadership, governance, compliance, accreditation, and assurance of SBX Security. The role will cover operational delivery, compliance frameworks, policy and procedure development, SIA and ACS standards, quality management, operational audits, risk management, incident reporting, contract mobilisation, service assurance, client relationships, stakeholder engagement, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational delivery of all security services across SBX Security.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain scalable operational policies, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure services are delivered consistently, safely, and in accordance with contractual requirements, client obligations, and company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, SIA requirements, the Approved Contractor Scheme, health and safety obligations, GDPR, data protection, and company governance standards.
  • Lead compliance monitoring, operational audits, assurance activity, site inspections, and accreditation assessments.
  • Act as the business lead for SIA ACS activity, external audits, and quality management systems.
  • Support the mobilisation of new security contracts and service lines, establishing mobilisation frameworks, operating controls, and governance structures.
  • Monitor service delivery performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs, service risks, and contract outcomes.
  • Maintain robust incident management, reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead supervisors, team leaders, security officers, and associated operational staff.
  • Build capability through training, coaching, succession planning, and effective workforce management.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, regulators, accreditation bodies, suppliers, technology partners, and internal support functions.
  • Provide technical input and operational expertise during tender submissions, client presentations, contract renewals, and new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Head of Security & Innovation to support business development, operational improvement, and emerging security technology initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, ethical conduct, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement across SBX Security.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
