SC Cleared Automation Engineer

We're looking for a talented Test Automation Engineer to join our Digital Assurance & Productivity team within Technology. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering robust, scalable, and reliable technology solutions that support critical services and digital transformation initiatives.
Whether you're an experienced Test Automation Engineer or a software developer looking to transition into automation testing, this role offers the chance to build innovative testing solutions and make a meaningful impact.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Test Automation Engineer, you'll work closely with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery through effective test automation. Your responsibilities will include:

- Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts
- Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborating with Agile delivery teams to define and implement appropriate test coverage
- Troubleshooting automation issues and driving continuous improvement
- Contributing to automation strategy, tooling decisions, and best practices
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable technology solutions across the organisation
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
You'll bring a passion for quality engineering alongside experience in some or all of the following:
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Karate, SOAPUI, or Postman
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python or Java
- Experience working with CI/CD tools and version control systems, including GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Familiarity with Cucumber BDD
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Exposure to test data management tools
- Understanding of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience of performance and/or security testing
- Strong organisational skills, integrity, self-motivation, and a commitment to continuous learning

Desirable
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Middleware and messaging technologies such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or ACE
- Software architecture technologies including XBRL and HTML
- Banking, financial services, or regulated industry experience
