SC Cleared Lead AWS Engineer
Hays are now looking for an SC Cleared Lead AWS Engineer to help design, build and support cloud infrastructure and automation within a Cloud Centre of Excellence.
£700 - £750 p/d Inside IR35
Remote
6 month+ contract
Must be currently SC Cleared
The role requires strong hands-on experience across AWS, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, networking and platform operations in a complex enterprise environment.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Automating configuration management and deployments with Ansible.
- Building and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Managing source control and deployment workflows in GitLab and/or GitHub.
- Deploying and supporting AWS services including ECS, EC2, RDS, API Gateway, ELB and ACM.
- Managing multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations.
- Designing and supporting AWS networking including Transit Gateway, VPC peering, routing and connectivity.
- Implementing and maintaining AWS WAF policies and rules.
- Supporting incident, request and change management processes through ServiceNow.
- Monitoring platform and application performance using LogicMonitor or similar observability tools.
- Troubleshooting production issues and driving continuous platform improvements.

What we're looking for
- Current SC Clearance
- Strong experience with Terraform and ideally Terragrunt.
- Experience with Ansible.
- Experience building and managing Jenkins pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of GitLab and/or GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with AWS ECS, EC2, RDS, API Gateway, ELB and ACM.
- Experience managing AWS Organizations in multi-account environments.
- Strong AWS networking experience including Transit Gateway, VPC design, routing and connectivity.
- Experience with AWS WAF.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow.
- Experience with LogicMonitor, Datadog, CloudWatch, New Relic or similar monitoring platforms.

Desirable
- Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with formal change management.
- Python and/or Bash scripting.
- Experience with Kubernetes or EKS.
