Pega Lead System Architect / Solution Architect
Rate: £553 per day (inside IR35)
Working arrangement: Remote Working
Contract length: To confirm
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required
Mandatory Certification: Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CPLSA/CLSA)
Your new company
A public sector-focused programme is seeking an experienced Pega Lead to take ownership of the overall Pega solution architecture and provide technical leadership across large-scale enterprise delivery.
Your new role
As the Pega Lead, you will own the end-to-end architecture and technical design of Pega applications, translating complex business and technical requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable solutions. You will act as the technical authority throughout the delivery lifecycle, working closely with architects, product owners and development teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Own the overall architecture and technical design of Pega applications.
- Lead solution design across case management, workflow, data models, integrations, security and user experience.
- Define application architecture, reusable components, enterprise design patterns and implementation standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Pega architects and development teams.
- Review solution designs and implementations to ensure compliance with Pega guardrails and engineering best practice.
- Lead complex technical decision-making and resolve architectural and performance challenges.
- Design scalable integration patterns using REST APIs, connectors, services, data pages and enterprise integration technologies.
- Define authentication, authorisation, access control and security architecture.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, resilience, availability and maintainability requirements.
- Establish application monitoring, optimisation and troubleshooting approaches.
- Define CI/CD, DevOps, branching, deployment and release-management strategies.
- Support production readiness, deployment planning and technical assurance activities.
- Facilitate technical workshops and communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct design and code reviews while managing technical debt and technical risks.
- Support estimation, delivery planning, dependency management and governance activities.

Essential skills and experience
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions using the Pega Platform.
- Proven experience as a Pega Lead System Architect or Pega Solution Architect on large and complex programmes.
- Deep expertise in:
- Pega case management
- Application architecture
- Data modelling
- Enterprise integrations
- Strong knowledge of Pega design principles, guardrails and reusable architecture frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing REST API integrations, services and connectors.
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience designing secure Pega solutions including authentication, authorisation and role-based or attribute-based access controls.
- Strong knowledge of performance optimisation, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Pega DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and enterprise deployment models.
- Experience delivering within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to lead multiple development teams and provide architecture governance across workstreams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to present complex technical concepts and architecture decisions to senior business and technology stakeholders.

Certification
Mandatory: Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CPLSA/CLSA)
Desirable skills and experience
Experience with Pega Infinity '24/'25 or later.
