Plumber – SC Cleared | HMP The Mount

Position: Plumber
Security Clearance: SC Clearance Required
Contract: Ongoing
Rate: Competitive, depending on experience
We are currently looking for an experienced Plumber to join the maintenance team at HMP The Mount.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified plumber with previous commercial, public-sector, or secure-estate experience who already holds valid SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across the prison estate.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing faults, leaks, blockages, and other issues.
- Install, maintain, and repair sanitaryware, pipework, water systems, and associated equipment.
- Complete maintenance work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and minimize disruption to the site.
- Complete relevant paperwork and maintenance records.
- Follow all prison security, health & safety, and site procedures.

Requirements
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent plumbing qualification.
- Relevant experience as a qualified plumber.
- Current SC Clearance – essential.
- Experience working within commercial, industrial, public-sector, or secure environments is desirable.
- Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements.
- Full UK driving licence desirable.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
