Lead from the Front with Mitie Security
Mitie Security is recruiting a professional and motivated SC Cleared Security Supervisor to support and lead a security team for a prestigious customer site in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Officer looking to take the next step in their career, or for an established Supervisor seeking a new challenge with one of the UK's leading security providers.
As a Core Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of security, customer service, and operational performance, whilst providing leadership, guidance, and support to site-based security officers. You will work closely with management and customers to ensure service delivery, compliance, and security requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of Security Officers.
- Ensure all security operations are delivered in accordance with site assignment instructions and client requirements.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, appearance, and customer service.
- Assist with incident management, investigations, and reporting requirements.
- Support recruitment, induction, and training of new colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, assignment instructions, and statutory requirements.
- Monitor attendance, performance, and employee engagement within your team.
- Liaise with clients, operational management, and support functions to ensure service excellence.
- Assist in the management of staffing levels, holiday requests, and short-notice operational requirements.
- Respond to operational issues and provide supervisory support where required.
Essential Criteria
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Must have 5 years residency in the UK/Northern Ireland in order to obtain SC Clearance.
- Previous experience within the security industry.
- Experience supervising teams or demonstrating leadership responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Professional, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
- Good IT and report-writing skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous Security Supervisor experience.
- Experience working within corporate, government, critical infrastructure, or high-profile environments.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience conducting investigations, audits, or incident reviews.
- Knowledge of security industry legislation and best practice.

Job Overview
To protect our customer's property, people, and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites' published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.
Delivering results that meet and/or exceed the Key Performance Indicators/Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.
To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
Main Duties
- Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Security.
- Be the first point of contact for the Security team and deal with day-to-day matters such as standards of dress, discipline, and conduct are met and adhered to.
- Assist in ongoing training to resident security teams and ensure all new security officers are fully trained and inducted to the site procedures and policies including CCTV, access control systems, deliveries and removals, fire alarms, and intruder alarm.
- Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods.
- Assist in the review of Security Officers' performance and development.
- To assist in any security/equipment investigations, i.e., thefts, missing items, complaints, etc.
- Provide customer/client liaison as and when required.
- Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times by security and shipping personnel.
- Ensure that any important messages are conveyed in the Security Handover and that all security personnel read and acknowledge them.
- Ensuring security records and logs are being kept up to date.
- Ensure the security team are compliant with all relevant legislation on data protection.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous Security Experience
- SIA License
- SC Clearance desirable
- Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English.
- Be computer and software literate.
- Reliability, self-motivation, and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
- The ability to solve problems, make decisions, and prioritise.
- The ability to transfer self-motivation to staff.
- The ability, tact, and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels.
- Self-confidence and an interest in self-development.
- An interest in the continuous improvement of the Company's performance.
- The nature of the role is such that it is essential that the post holder has and will maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
