Job Title: SC Cleared Virtualisation Engineer
Location: London
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £750 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process
Join Our Client as a hands-on Platform Engineer, delivering enterprise virtualisation platforms and automation in secure, regulated environments. If you enjoy turning architecture into repeatable, deployable solutions—while helping teams move faster with confidence—this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, deploy and manage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) virtualisation platforms
- Implement core VCF components including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations, VPC and VKS
- Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated, consistent platform deployments
- Create API-driven automation for provisioning, configuration and lifecycle management
- Support platform lifecycle activities such as build, upgrades, patching and scaling
- Integrate virtualisation platforms with enterprise services (networking, DNS, identity and DevOps toolchains)
- Produce key technical artefacts including LLDs, build guides and runbooks
- Support integration, testing and operational handover, including change impact assessments and risk identification
- Help improve stability, performance and scalability through continuous automation and standardisation

What You'll Bring
- Strong experience with VMware virtualisation platforms (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
- Proven VMware Cloud Foundation / SDDC knowledge (NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations)
- Automation experience using tools such as PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible or SaltStack
- Experience with IaC and API-driven automation approaches
- Understanding of enterprise networking and underpinning services (e.g. DNS, load balancing)
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyse and communicate clearly with technical teams
- Confidence delivering in secure or regulated environments
- UK Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to obtain

Additional Information
- Experience with Kubernetes on VCF (VKS) is desirable
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud, GitOps and resilience (backup/DR) is desirable
- Agile delivery and Atlassian tools experience is desirable
