Job Title: SC Cleared Wintel Engineer
Location: Corsham
Duration: 6 Months with possible extension
Rate: Up to £525 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process
If you enjoy getting hands-on with enterprise infrastructure and turning complex technical requirements into reliable, secure services, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact. Our Client is hiring for a reputed client, supporting the OpNET programme with Windows-based platforms in highly virtualised environments—helping deliver full lifecycle engineering from build and integration through to operational support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems across enterprise environments
- Deploy and support key Microsoft enterprise services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, SQL, WSUS, PKI and supporting applications
- Administer Windows environments within virtualised infrastructure platforms
- Carry out system configuration, patching, backup and restore to help maintain platform availability
- Support integration, troubleshooting and resolution across infrastructure services
- Produce and review technical artefacts including design documentation, build guides and operational procedures
- Support system testing, integration and commissioning activities
- Work with Service Management to investigate and resolve incidents and service requests
- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation and standardisation of WINTEL services
- Deliver activities in line with programme timelines, standards and security requirements

What You'll Bring
- Strong experience with Windows Server platforms (2012R2, 2016 and later) in enterprise environments
- Experience deploying and administering Active Directory in secure environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise services including PKI, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SQL and WSUS
- Experience supporting Windows in virtualised infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of patching, backup/restore and monitoring as part of system administration
- Experience using PowerShell for administration and automation
- Ability to create technical documentation (e.g. LLDs, build guides, runbooks)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills
- Experience working in complex programmes and large technical teams
- Understanding of service management principles (ITIL)
- You must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC)
