Software Support Engineer
PcVue UK hires a Software Support Engineer to enhance the UK operation based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. As a Software Support Engineer, you will support customers throughout the lifecycle of their projects, from implementation and commissioning to training and ongoing technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Support & Project Delivery
- Deliver technical training to customers and end users.
- Provide consultancy and technical guidance throughout project delivery.
- Support the design, configuration and implementation of customer-specific solutions and interfaces.
- Participate in commissioning and deployment activities.
- Deliver after-sales technical support via telephone, remote access and occasional site visits across the UK and internationally.
Product Testing & Validation
- Test and validate software releases in collaboration with R&D teams.
- Contribute to software quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Pre-Sales Support
- Design and deliver technical demonstrations.
- Support customer meetings, presentations and proof-of-concept activities.

Essential Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Automation, Control Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with SCADA, HMI, industrial software, automation systems or technical support roles.
- Exposure to customer-facing project environments.
- Experience gained through graduate schemes, placements or apprenticeships will also be considered.
Technical Knowledge (one or more of the following)
- SCADA and Industrial Automation systems
- MQTT, OPC, BACnet, Modbus, Siemens S7, IEC protocols
- Python, JavaScript, JSON, HTML5, .NET, C#
- SQL Server, Oracle, Cosmos DB or other database technologies
- Microsoft Windows environments
- Cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality technologies
